So far, so good. Logistical things have been taken care of, addresses and the like. Been acclimating to the climate and getting up on time. Currently, I’ve gotten up before 7am, eaten oatmeal for breakfast, and played guitar in the afternoon every day.

The writing has been less forthcoming. Searching for a place to write seems to be slowing the flow down. There are good uncomfortable vantage points, but nothing that says, yes, this is where you write.

Total spending thus far has only been $8.16, and that was for two packs of cigarettes; Less than $3 per day. Haven’t been eating as healthy as previously, but I have been helping burn through many barbecue remains.

Already had several communications with Seattle folk, which has been pleasurable; Been better at email.

I even had my first spontaneous song snippet finding moment earlier today. Was playing through old shit until my hand and voice hurt, and somehow I stumbled over the idea “do i have any bits that start with f#?” apparently, not, so I just started strumming out an f#, and blurted out some verbal noise. The vocal part is louder than the guitar, so, you know, be warned. It’s not much of anything, but it’s something. time.mp3 » And something is important. It may just be the highlight of all these three first days.

Perhaps the single most common question I’ve been getting thusfar is “how is it over there?” and my single most common answer is “it’s quiet.”
